    My Winter Skincare Routine

    January 14, 2019 By Alicia

Glotrition Collage Peptide Drink Mix / SiO Beauty Patches / Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm / BeautyBio The Quench / Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Face Oil / BeautyBio Glo Pro / BeautyBio R45 The Reversal / Tata Harper Cleansing Oil / Colleen Rothschild Retinol Supreme Eye Serum / Somaderm Gel / Glotrition Collagen Serum / BeautyBio Lip Balm

My skin is pretty normal but in the winter, takes a turn to be very dry.  After seeing that you loved both my Morning and Nighttime Skin Care Routines last fall, I want to share the tweaks I’ve made in my Winter Skincare Rountine.  It is all about hydration!

Dry skin appears older and more wrinkled.  Those are no one’s skin goals!  Keeping my skin hydrated and using products that are super hydrating is the key for me in winter.  If you are new here, my goal is use clean beauty products to avoid cosmetic injectables or surgery.  Nothing against it, I just don’t think it’s for me.

I am also increasing my water intake which is one of my New Year Reset priorities and still drinking the Glotrition Collagen Peptide Drink daily.  When I skip this for a day or so, I can really tell a difference in my skin.

Here is what I’m using right now and loving the results!

    Cleansing:

I’m still using the Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm.  I love the smell of this rich product and how clean and hydrated my skin feels when I use it.  At night when my skin is feeling extra dry or when I have on a lot of make up, I cleanse a second time with Tata Harpers Nourishing Cleansing Oil. I almost never wear foundation but do use a few primers.  That combination and why is coming in a post soon!  Tata Harper is a big fan on double cleansing and her cleansing oil is very hydrating.  The combination of the balm and oil cleanser feels amazing.  The Radiant Cleansing Balm was one of your favorite beauty products of 2018.  You can see them all here.

Daily Treatments with Serum and Oil:

After using my BeautyBio GloPro, another favorite beauty item from 2018, I apply serums and oils.  (Read about the GloPro here.) I’m still using and loving the Glotrition Collage Serum and have added the Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum at day and night.  This oil has a huge following and I was a bit skeptical but I really like it and have seen improvement in my skin’s hydration and texture.  It is not too heavy to wear under make up in the daytime.  It smells wonderful and 5 or 6 drops is plenty.  I always put the “left over” serums, oils and moisturizers on my hands and forearms.  I saw improvement in the skin on the back of my hands immediately!  This oil is pricey but I think it is worth every penny!  I use it during the day when I feel extra dry and I happen to be home for extra hydration and a pretty glow.  It’s easy to layer my primers over as well.

    Moisturizer:

I’ve been using the new BeautyBio The Quench.  Wow!  This moisturizer does what it says and truly hydrates your skin.  It helps to renew the moisture in your skin and provide a barrier to moisture loss.  It keeps you hydrated all day and night.  You can read about my other BeautyBio favorites here.

    Eye Cream/Serum:

The Colleen Rothschild Retinol Eye Serum is ultra rich and hydrating.  A little bit goes a long way with this product.  This small bottle has lasted me a long time.  I love the rich emollient feel of this eye serum.

    Extra Skin Treatments:

If you follow me on Instagram and IG stories, you saw that I just finished my second round of BeautyBio’s R45 The Reversal.  I’ll be sharing a full review of this product soon but let’s just say: This is the real deal.  R45 is a gentle 3 phase system using a special retinol complex that encourages your skin to build collagen.  It’s a 6 week treatment that steps up in strength.  I can truly see my skin improve each time and the effects last.  This is something you do only twice a year.  Winter is the perfect time because you are not in the sun.

Another product I’ve just started using is SiO Beauty’s Skin Patches.  This is another review that will be coming soon but WOW!  I almost couldn’t believe the results from one use!  I was pretty skeptical to be honest but so many people I know love these products.  SiO invited me to a dinner in December to learn more and meet the founder.  She is beautiful and so sweet!  These patches work overnight to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  I love that they are reusable, too. I received so many compliments on my skin when I’ve used them.  Once from my best friend who sees me all the time and even complimented told me how great my skin looked the next day when we talked on the phone. I’m obsessed!

    Overall health product:

I’ve been using a new product for about 6 months now.  It is a transdermal (topical) gel that stimulates your pituitary gland to secret HGH which our bodies start to decrease in producing in our 20s and thus begins the aging process.  Depending on what your body needs, you may see some different results.

For me, sleep, energy (no afternoon slump!) and stronger nails are what I notice the most.  Also, all of my skin also seems to have an over all better appearance and is more hydrated, not just my face.  I hadn’t been sleeping well for about 9 months, waking up at 4 or 5 am and not being able to go back to sleep. I have several friends who said this changed their sleep so I finally tried it.  The first night I used it I couldn’t believe how well I slept!  My husband thought I was crazy when I told him how well I was sleeping and didn’t believe me.  He’s loving it now, too!  If you are interested in learning more about this product, leave me a comment below or drop me an email.

I hope you’ll try some of these great products.  I’m loving what they are doing for my dry winter skin!

    xo
