  • What I Wore In Punta Mita

    July 18, 2018 By Alicia

What a great week with my family in Punt Mita.  We are so blessed by the example my parents are of a wonderful marriage, friendship and parenting. Today, I wanted to share a quick round up of what I wore and what I would leave at home next time.  I always think that is helpful to know as well!

There is so much to do there that we were never bored but had a time relaxing as well.  I’ve updated my Punta Mita post with the new activities and restaurants so don’t miss it if you are thinking about going there.  Pardon the iPhone photos…I was catching thing on the fly this trip so I could be with my family as much as possible!

Travel Look –  I wore this both coming and going.  It is universally flattering and I’ll be ordering the black version and probably another fall color, too.

Ruched Tshirt Dress / Sandals (similar here) / Fedora / Mar y Sol Beach tote (here, here and here)

Sunset Cocktails – This dress is self-lined but so light weight and cool!

Sail to Sable Pink and White Stripe Dress / White Disk Earrings

Pool to Dinner Look – This cover up is perfect from day to night!  I also wore the red one seen here and here.

Black One Shoulder Cover Up /Fedora / Mar y Sol Beach tote (here, here and here) / Favorite Beach Flip Flop

    Dinner at Si Senor

White One Shoulder Top / Best Denim Shorts (on sale here and here!) / Sandals (Sandals (similar here)) / Favorite Straw Clutch (similar here for less)

White Suit – I hesitated to get this suit because “everyone has it.”  But, then I thought “Maybe there is a reason…”  Now I know!  One pieces are hard for me as a petite but this one is adjustable and fits like a dream.  I love it so much I got it in black also.  I got asked multiple times where I got it.  So if you’ve been thinking like me or looking for a one-piece, definitely try this one! This is the day we had a shark sighting, too!

    White Crochet Lace One-Piece /Fedora / Sunglasses

Dinner at the Beach Club – We dressed up one night to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary and watch the sunset, of course!

Off The Shoulder Maxi / Circle Straw Bag / Wedges (designer look for less is always a plus!)

    Last Beach Day

Blue and White Cover Up from this post

Family Photos at Sunset – Can’t wait to get these back!

White One Shoulder Dress (seen here)

I way over packed for this trip.  Having just been to Cabo where we dresses for dinner almost every night, I forgot how relaxed Punta Mita is.  I would have left my two nicer dresses at home (I didn’t wear them) and thrown in two more casual tops for dinner when we ate at the house several nights.

We are getting ready to head to Italy on our family vacation so I’m working on what to pack for all of us.  If you have any tips for Italy (Rome, Florence and Venice) for the summer, please email me or comment below.

Be sure to check out My Favorite Five from the Nordstrom Sale in 5 Categories and also my favorites in every category on the menu above and this post.  I’m updating them daily as either they are adding new things or I’m just finding new goodness every time I look!  Today, I’m shooting a few things to share with you soon!

I’ve went to Rome in the summer about 9 years ago and in April 2 years ago. If you need any recommendations of where to go or what to see, I can give you some tips. I just love it there! From a packing perspective….To visit Rome/Florence any time soon, the weather will be very hot and very humid. I would recommend shoes that you can get around easily in. Everything in Rome is very walkable so you end up walking to everything…but it ends up being a lot of walking. You would not be out of place wearing cute sneakers during the day. Most places in Rome are pretty casual. If you visit the Vatican, wear comfortable shoes and be sure you have something to cover your shoulders and legs (nothing too short). I would highly recommend reserving tickets to the Vatican to avoid the horrendously long lines to get in. You can get a bit more dressed up at night, but because the streets are mostly cobblestone (very uneven) it can be difficult getting around in stilettos. A low wedge heel or a block heel that isn’t too high might work. I haven’t been to Venice but from what I understand it’s hotter and more humid with lots of cobblestone and water (of course!).
