Today, I am really excited to share the most fun space in my home, our Cabana! I’ve been waiting to share this reveal with you for almost three weeks now. What a transformation! We’ve already had so much fun in this great space.
When Wayfair reached out to me about participating in their #Wayfair1roomreno, I didn’t hesitate because I knew they’d have the items I wanted to use to make this long neglected area fresh and beautiful. We absolutely love the way our cabana renovation turned out. This rarely used space is now the perfect teen hangout with pool bath.
You may remember from this post that our original plan for this renovation was to take down a wall and make it “one room.” Well, because is was load bearing, that was immediately canceled. It’s important to have a good construction guy to tell you things like this! However, to us, it is still one room because of how we use it.
I have always loved this handmade concrete tile. I was so excited to find it at Wayfair and it became the inspiration for the entire space. I love how it is complimented by the cobalt blue, high-gloss cabinets. The acrylic and nickel hardware are the perfect finishing touch to the cabinets in the kitchenette and bath. The large stainless steel sink and polished nickel faucet finish this area.
The second item I chose for this renovation was the LVT flooring (Luxury Vinyl Tile) to replace the tired, 90s Berber carpet. This flooring is so amazing! It looks like hardwood flooring and even has a varied woodgrain pattern and texture. No one can believe it’s not hardwood! I love it because it is kid-proof: easy to clean and can’t be damaged by spilled drinks or wet feet from the pool.
Next on my agenda was to replace the awful drop in tub in the bathroom. This gorgeous shower insert shipped flat and was so easy for our tile installer. And it was also a lot less expensive than a full tile shower but gives the look with less maintance. I added a glass door, new shower fixture and Voila! A fresh new shower.
It is hard to choose my favorite item in the bath though. It’s a bit of a toss up between the floor and the gorgeous pagoda-style mirror. (It currently says out of stock but back in May. I love this about Wayfair!) I could not be happier with this clean, white hexagon tile with navy grout. I love how color makes the tile pop! We added a new toilet and sink hardware to finish this space. I love how it all came together.
The “media” area of the Cabana features a sleeper sofa topped with a gorgeous Gray Malin photograph which helps to round out the beachy feel of the Cabana. Also here are a large flatscreen for movie night, another fun rug, and beanbags. I’m not worried about the light color of the sofa because it is upholstered with Duralee Fabric featuring Crypton Fabric techonology (Get the full scoop on Crypton here.)
Wayfair is such a wonderful, one-stop shop for all things home whether it’s for a renovation or completing your decor. I’ll be doing a full post next week on the other items I found at Wayfair for our cabana renovation that complete the look as well as all other details. There is so much goodness in this small space!
Leave a comment below and let me know your favorite element. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
